Desert Gymcats: occupies a state of the art 13,000 sq. ft. facility with the largest, most technically advanced, in-the-ground landing pit and in-the-ground full size trampoline. We have several sets of Olympic specification gymnastics equipment on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and 2 full spring floor ex mats with an additional power tumbling strip...Our boys equipment consists of Olympic specification ring tower, high bars, parallel bars, pommel horses and mushrooms to maximize training to the highest level. The dance studio is 45' x 24' and is fully mirrored with ballet barre equipment. For our younger gymnasts, we have the latest pre-school equipment that facilitates the learning of gymnastics skills in a fun filled and safe manner.
STACY CARRERO Owner and director of all programs. Stacy has a master of science degree in education and has owned Gymcats , in New York and Henderson and Desert Gymcats of Las Vegas since 1976. Gymcats has always stood for excellence in professional instruction and service for 32 years.
JESSICA STOKELY Co-owner and head coach of Desert Gymcats- Jessica is a former elite gymnast who had a full-scholarship to the University of Oklahoma and was "The Woman of the Year" for the state of Oklahoma in both academics and athletics. Jessica's teams have had outstanding results producing the following: "Best Overall Team" in Nevada- 2007; Many Regional and National Champions; Regional and National T.O.P.S Champions- (Talent Opportunity Program)
SILVANA HILL Dance and Level 3 Program Director. Silvana comes to us as a former Brazilian National Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion. Silvana is our dance director and creates spectacular dance recitals two times a year! Additionally, Silvana is responsible for technical accuracy of compulsory routines and the choreography and perfecting of all our optional teams' floor exercise and balance beam routines.
Silvana is well-loved by all gymnasts and is known for her expression: "Brilliant!"
ERIN OBSENARES Red Team Director and DCX Team Director. Erin has been involved in Cheer for most of her life. Erin is an expert at choreography and all aspects of cheer. Erin has coached Cheer Nation and was a part of their team, as well as the UNLV Varsity Cheer Squad.
JEFF WHITE Head coach, boys' teams. Developmental, Advanced Developmental and Tomcats coach. Jeff is from Binghamton, NY and attended Kent State University and Ithaca College in health and Physical Education. Jeff competed in gymnastics at Ithaca. Jeff is a National Gymnastics Judges Association official. Jeff was New York State Coach of the Year for 1990 and 1997. Jeff was featured in the Who's Who of American teachers in 1996.
NED LANG Girls' Team Coach Levels 3-10. Ned is Physical Education Specialist from the University of Utah.
Coached many State and Regional champions on both the girls' and boys' teams. Coached in National Championships.
DENA NOWACKI Dena is our Pre-school Director. Dena hails from Woodhaven, Michigan and the Henry Ford Community College. Dena has enjoyed teaching toddlers for the past 13 years and loves to give strong basics to all gymnasts. Dena combines laughter and encouragement in every lesson plan and has the goal of having each child associate fun with fitness!
ANGELINA SPIZZUCO Fantastic Felines and Level 4-10 coach. Bachelor Degree in Health Sciences and former Level 10 outstanding gymnast who had trained for 3 years with Bela and Marta Karolyi. Angie coaches all our competitive athletes and is known for her expertise in choreography and refinement of technique.
BETH RADUNZEL Developmental Girls Program Director and Girls' Team Coach. Beth comes to us from San Jose, California. Beth's favorite saying: "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, either way, you'll be right!"
PATRICIA SLESSER "MISS TRISH" Pre-school Program Director and Girls' Team Coach. Miss Trish is originally from Long Island, NY. Miss Trish is a favorite with all the students and parents. She is known for her expressions such as: "You-Who Chickadees"; and "Holy Hotdogs, Batman"
ELISA BRAN Prep-Optional Director and Team Coach. Elisa is originally from Orange County, California. Elisa has a B.A. in Elementary Education from Nevada State College. Elisa competed through Level 9, as a young gymnast.
PAT HAMBRIGHT Pat teaches pre-school classes and developmental girls. Pat's hometown is Albuquerque, NM. Pat is a former kindergarten teacher who taught for over 18 years. Pat has been a Desert Gymcats staff member for the past 7 years. Pat's favorite expressions are: "Sit on your Buttooty" and "Ribbit, Ribbit."
SUSAN KENNEDY Sue is our office manager who is responsible for keeping thorough records of our students and competitive gymnasts and cheerleaders. Sue has a strong background in banking, accounting and office management.
ALEXIS COE (ALI) Ali teaches Developmental Girls and Cheer. Ali attended the University of Nevada, Reno. Ali was a competitive gymnast and cheerleader who traveled with "West Coast Cheer Co.", and coached competitive team camps Ali's favorite saying: "I am not afraid, I was born to do this". This is a quote from Joan of Arc.
BRIGITTE LESCIEUX Brigitte is a Level 9 national competitor and was State Champion on balance beam, six times. Brigitte was Regional Beam Champ in 2007. Brigitte is a ranked USA Gymnastics Official.
Brigitte instills a sense of respect for coaches and emphasizes the importance of listening to all cues and corrections, as a recipe for success in our sport.
JORDON GUERORGUIEV DCX Co-Director, boys' program instructor, Pre-school instructor. Jordan is a former Bulgarian World Champion in sports acrobatics. Jordan has been the Co-Director of DCX for the past 4 years and has produced many Regional and National Championship teams.
EDUARDO VAZQUEZ Eduardo teaches Jazz, Ballet and Hip Hop. Eduardo comes to us from Puerto Rico and attended Antilles college. Eduardo is a professional ballerina who has danced for the Ballet Conciento de Puerto Rico and performed in: "Carnival of Sins", "The Nutcracker", "Aladdin", "The Revue", "Budha Bar". Eduardo's saying: "I love my job"
ELENA SPITSYNA Elena is a former Russian Gymnastics Champ who has taught at Desert Gymcats for the past 5 years. Elena is a competitive team coach as well as the head talent opportunity coach (T.O.P.S). Elena emphasizes good technique and tight form in all her teaching.
